80's Music Oh Ya

Posted by Maus Aug. 5, 2007 @ 2:20 AM EDT

With the recent popularity of Rick Rolling, it's totally transported me back in tiiiime to all the tunes I listened to back in the day. I had a dual cassette recorder and awesome reception. I was a mix tape QUEEN. Packs of Memorex 90min tapes were always an item on the shopping list. Lots of people my age were resistant to cds if only because you couldn't make mixtapes.

ANYWAY.

Never Gonna Give You Up was pretty popular on the radio when I was in middle school. After my first rick roll (thanks Owen) I started listening to all that old synth pop I loved.

Lately, it's been a heavy rotation of Erasure. If you like being rick rolled, check 'em out. They pretty much invented synth pop.

Other than that, I've been hella busy at work, so internets is pretty low priority. :((((

Never Gonna Give You Up is actually pretty damn catchy. :s

But I'll never understand how it's scientifically possible for THAT voice to come out of THAT body.

Engineering, my dear boy.

Ah, thanks to GTA; I can re-live the 80s music anytime I want.
Had a small collection of all my favorite tapes, never got into CDs that much either.

But Middle School?? Everyone called it Junior High back then.
Good times, good times.....

Aug. 11, 2007 | 12:18 AM Maus responds:

Nah, we switched to calling it 'middle school' right when I started elementary. It was pretty newish to the country at that point. :)

It's times like this when I wish I was a child of the 80's.

Aug. 11, 2007 | 12:18 AM Maus responds:

We are all children of the 80's.

I never stopped listening to 80's pop.

And a lot of people think that's odd, cause I'm a huge Tool fan.

Aug. 11, 2007 | 12:18 AM Maus responds:

I'll see your Tool and raise you Front 242 ;D

I know what you mean, though. Who knew someone could listen to Enya, Britney Spears and Massive Attack all in one day and enjoy all of it. lololol

Haha, Erasure, man were they ever gay. But, I prefer the Smiths, and the Swans. Now there's 80 music I can rape, and masturbate to.

Aug. 11, 2007 | 12:18 AM Maus responds:

Morrisey is a whiny cunt. :o Can't stand his voice. :(

Aren't The Swans late 90's? :s
